KEY DETAIL is a mural artist, a painter and an illustrator. He lives and works in New York, NY. A native of Belarus, he obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from the Belarusian National Technical University. Growing up in Minsk, KEY DETAIL has been active on the art scene since the 2000s. He has been creating mural art for more than ten years. “Inspired by fantasy and magic, the core philosophy behind my work is the idea that the universe is always presenting us with opportunities. Public art lives within the everyday rhythm of the city. It becomes part of people’s daily experience. I find it meaningful that my murals can become a small part of someone’s everyday life. For the Dallas community or any community, public art can create moments of reflection, inspiration, and connection. I hope my work brings a small moment of beauty and curiosity to people as they pass by.

I love fantasy and magic. I love inspiring stories and creating visual narratives that everyone can interpret in their own way. I let these ideas guide my composition and color palette, blending the magical with the familiar to create a mural that feels both imaginative and connected to the community around it.

For this mural I used spray paint, which allows me to work quickly and layer colors to create depth. Working at such a large scale presents unique challenges, like translating fine details across a big surface, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to see the composition come together from start to finish.
